Speed Dating Yourself

Abstract

A big issue that I feel we often face in highschool and even middle to elementary school is that we often struggle with self identity and self expression. When you start middle school, you obviously want to fit in because it’s just so different from what we’ve experienced before and you don’t want to be that one person who doesn’t get the memo and is left out. Because of this, we feel obliged to (in a metaphorical sense) leave ourselves behind. So we leave our true selves behind in order to mold ourselves into this norm of what we supposedly should be instead of just being who we are. Which leads me to my capstone which is essentially “speed dating” yourself and really getting back into knowing who you are.
