Abstract
Agriculture is one of the major causes of water shortage because they use a lot of water for food production. Their water usage can be really inefficient because many do not know the right amount of water that plants need. To solve this, I’m creating an automated drip irrigation system. It will be controlled by a Raspberry Pi (a mini computer) and powered by some 9 volts batteries. The goal of this system is the reduce water usage as well as manual work.
The Raspberry Pi will be hooked up to the soil moisture sensor where it will get the data from. The Raspberry Pi will also be connected to the weather station to forecast the weather later on in the day. Based on all of the information, it will process whether the plant should be water or not.
