Tackling Waste Management on the Big Island

Ruby Helmuth

My name is Ruby Helmuth and I am a senior at Hawaii Preparatory Academy. Growing up in Hawaii, I have developed a deep connection with our land and I am want to leave a positive impact on my community. I see the impacts humans continue to cause on our island environment. As one who is often found on the beach with a bucket of debris, I have done lots of work individually trying to diminish these impacts.
