Abstract
I came up with the idea to sell custom paintings because I have a lot of experience with painting and I can make money through this hobby. I can do a variety of different paintings (below) including portraits, buildings, landscapes, gyotaku (a traditional Japanese fish printing method), and more. I personally enjoy creating custom paintings because it allows me to hold on to something meaningful or something that I connect to, such as a painting of my home or a fish print to remember and honor the catch. I wish to share my paintings with my community so that people can hold onto something meaningful to them as well.
Milestones
Ideation (SEPT 10)
Affordable Custom Paintings
Custom artwork, specifically paintings, is hard to find or very expensive in small towns like Waimea. If someone wanted to have a painting done for themselves or for someone else, they would likely have to order it online from an artist overseas. Online artists charge big bucks for artwork and there would be a big expense for the shipping. Also, the ordered paintings may not have the size or type of painting available and communication with online artists may be difficult. In addition, shipping art is also very hard because of how delicate artwork is and the artwork may be damaged in the process. A solution to these problems would allow people in small communities to have direct access and communication to artists who create affordable custom paintings.
